    • Synopsis
    • YASMIN-SAN follows director Isao Yukisada’s shooting of PIGEON, a Japanese-Malaysian co-production about an old Japanese man in exile. It examines the remnants of the Japanese occupation two generations on, bringing together a Japanese crew who knows Malaysia through Yasmin Ahmad’s films, and a Malaysian crew who knew her personally.

The main actress of PIGEON and Yasmin’s muse, Sharifah Amani guides us through Ahmad’s love and influence. YASMIN-SAN is a look into filmmaking, unity, fate, and history through the influence of Yasmin Ahmad, one of the most celebrated modern Malaysian directors.
