    • The Carpathian Biosphere Reserve (UKRAINE) is one of the last wild refuges for countless European species, but this sanctuary is under constant threat from human encroachment. The very existence of many animals, including the grey wolf, hangs in the balance as their habitats shrink. Wolves, once majestic rulers of these mountains, are now viewed with suspicion and fear. Their proximity to livestock often sparks unfounded attacks and tragic killings by local shepherds. The hysteria surrounding the supposed bloodlust of wolves is not only misplaced but heartbreaking, as attacks on domestic animals in the Ukrainian Carpathians are incredibly rare.

      To counteract this, conservationists from the reserve launch an ambitious experiment to map wolf habitats, migration routes, hunting patterns, and prey dynamics. At the heart of this mission are two researchers who embark on an extraordinary two-year expedition into the Carpathian wilderness
