- Synopsis
- This film is describe all generation of avant-garde artists during ex-USSR, who was innovators not only in art, by in way of life as well… The film “Who is Timur?” is about avant-garde Sankt Petersburg artist Timur Novikov, who was Andy Warhol’s friend.
  5 stories told by different people :
  by a scientist-genetic, a curator of the National Russian Museum “The Hermitage”, an artist Bugaev-Afrika, who was main actor of the film "ASSA" - "Banana Boy", a biologist-inventor and a close friend Vlad Monroe - artist, who dressing up, like Marlin Monroe.
  These separate stories make the portrait of an artist-innovator – Timur Novikov, who has become a part of the word avant-garde history.
  But some people think, that Timur was a “cosmo-biological substance, who was sent directly to us and later taken back”…
  All pictures, music and chronicle video in the film were created by Timur Novikov
  “Pirate television” and music band “New Composers” in 1980s during USSR times.
  Artist Timur Novikov became blind and died because of AIDS.
