    • Synopsis
    • A long time ago, a young maiden (13), Brónach Ní Dhrisceóil hears the cry of the Banshee meaning her mother is gravely ill and is sent by her mother to the village's witch, "The White Witch", (“The Morrígan”). The witch tells Brónach to go into the forest stating she will watch over her. Brónach goes through a tunnel and emerges to a magical realm where she is greeted by the goddess Danu and the goddess explains that to prove herself, Brónach must complete a series of tasks within three days time. As she sets out on her journey, Brónach makes friends with a mischievous, shapeshifting Puca who guides her while speaking in riddles. Brónach's tasks include saving the Children of Lir, helping fallen King Nuada to restore his arm so that he can take his place as king once more, and finding selkie queen Eve’s coat so that she can be free to return to the sea. In her final test, Brónach resists the temptation to go to the land of Tír na nÓg and a pool of glowing water appears next to her. Brónach takes the water and says goodbye to Puca and friends as he leads her back to the tunnel, to her realm. When she emerges from the tunnel, the wail of the banshee has returned, and the sun is setting as if no time has passed. Brónach runs to her home and gives her mother the vial to drink, as she drinks, the wail of the Banshee starts to fade, her mother is revived, and all is well.
