    • Synopsis
    • The film presents a story of an ordinary man, Ryszard Kuklinski, who, without any cannon or tanks and without becoming involved in politics, made history simply by living his dramatic life.
Colonel Kuklinski, a talented strategist became not only privy to the most heavily guarded strategic plans of the Warsaw Pact in the 1970s, but in fact drew up those plans himself. A quiet, modest, polite and kind man, always staying in the background, almost like a shadow. A very hard-working officer, he had made himself indispensable in the military hierarchy. When he realized what must have seemed obvious to anyone privy to the strategic plans of those times - namely that in the event of an armed conflict Poland would suffer the most - he contacted the Americans. In any case, this is the way he told this part of his story.
Had it not been for the information that Kuklinski passed on to the CIA, perhaps now the entire Europe would still be licking its wounds after a global nuclear cataclysm. Americans refer to him as a hero, Russians call him a traitor, while in Poland the jury is still out.
