    • Synopsis

    • The city of Toritama is a microcosm of ruthless capitalism: each year, more than 20 million jeans are produced in backyard factories. Residents work non-stop, proud to be masters of their own time. During Carnaval – the only leisure time of the year -, they transgress the logic of accumulating, sell their belongings without regrets and flee to the beaches in search of an ephemeral happiness. When Ash Wednesday arrives, a new cycle of work begins.
