- Synopsis
- “Torino” is a film that rises and is born from an automobile. It’s not hard to imagine it’s about the argentinean classic created in the mid sixties. What is hard is to imagine that behind it hides the story of a triumph of epic proportions, of a priceless body, which lies lost in some remote location of the country, waiting to be found.
  In 1967 was born, in Argentina, a sportscar of first class and competitive edge, which in short time would take over the tracks, demanding road touring (the most important category of automobile sports in Argentina) a change of rules. Two years later, a group of daredevil drivers and mechanics, headed by Juan Manuel Fangio and the acknowledged mechanic Oreste Berta, embark upon the “Argentinean Mission”, an ambicious quest to prove the abilities of the national industry in one of the most demanding competitions in the world.
  The film comes to life from the reconstruction of a 380 W Torino, the same model to participate in the mythical Marathon of the Route in Nurburgring, Germany. Through its parts and pieces, we come inside the story of one of the highest achievements of national industry, and of the creators, the true actors of the story. A handful of anonymous heroes who gave their soul at a resistance marathon expecting no reward (and, ironically, they never got it).
  Torino proposes a journey, a race, an adventure.
