    • Synopsis
    • The Story of Art in America explores the role of all forms of art in the social fabric of the United States, across diverse communities, large and small. From painting to music, poetry to sculpture, dance to bead making, spoken words to quilt making, all art forms have always been part of American society in all its layers and rich diversity. From Native American artists to African-American artists, Asian-American artists, LGBTQ artists or Western artists, the show explores the richness and depth of America’s artistic traditions. Each episode features one particular city, county, or Native American Tribe. Six thoughtful and often emotional interviews of local artists tell the story of each location.
