This is a heartwarming story of farming on Awaji Island. From ancient times up until the 12th century, Awaji Island was known for its special status as a producer of food for the Imperial Court, marine products in particular.
Keiko (Chiaki Kuriyama), who works for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, comes to Awaji Island as an investigator. Because Keiko has just come back from the USA, she has no idea of the real status of agriculture in Japan.
Though she works for a city hall on Awaji Island, she goes to factories for inspections. She meets two brothers, one of whom works for an onion factory and the other for a seaweed factory. They had a falling out a long time ago after their father’s death. In order to reconcile their dispute, she starts up a project to enliven agriculture.
