    • Synopsis
    • The Disappointment Tour takes place in one afternoon.

Mei-Ling, Hettie and Meg represent three generations of the Huang family who have hit the road to drop Mei-Ling off at a cancer treatment center. Each woman is stewing in her own problems: Mei-Ling is distracted by the prospect of finding out her diagnosis, Meg’s boyfriend just dumped her using emoji and Hettie is worried she might be fired from work come Monday. And then the car breaks down in the middle of nowhere.

Forced into a tiny vehicle with all of their emotional baggage, these three women experience moments of tension and conflict, but also levity and connection. Ultimately, it’s about seeing your family in a different light and realizing how sometimes the people you take most for granted have the greatest capacity to surprise you.
