- Synopsis
- Deke Snider is an award winning poet and former esteemed professor. His ex wife has custody of her two children, and he is stranged from them. Deke has instructed Literature for many years at a College. Now due to his divorce, indiscretions and a toxic downward spiral, he is living a statis existence and must drive a cab to make end meets.
  Shelly Woodford is a waitress in a 24 hour coffee shop. She is a former Student of Deke's as well as his lover. She is a writer half is age and the two, at best, have a co dependently dysfunctional relationship. Shelly is again planning on leaving Deke because she can longer deal with his sarcasm, pesimism and all the thick layers of guilt, he has from squandered opportunities and a failed marriage.
  Deke's situation grows increasingly perilious and complicated because he finds he has to spend more and more time driving cab, making him even more cynical.
  Deke is fast becoming a washed up and morally bankrupt writer as social outcast and a flawed caricature of his former self.
  During one fateful night of driving his cab, All this changes for Deke. The emotional baggage he has been carrying begins to wash away as he encounters a wide ranging assortmentsof eccentric, larger than life characters that comes his way as fares. The eclecticism and slice of life stories generates a long-lost spark that reinvigorates the heart and soul of who Deke Snider is.
