    • For this year’s BBC Interview we welcomed journalist and filmmaker Mobeen Azhar to Doc/Fest. Mobeen has produced and presented across BBC TV and radio for over 15 years, and much of his work explores the British Asian experience. His most recent award winning series for BBC3, Hometown: A Killing, saw him return home to Huddersfield to investigate the death of Yassar Yaqub, shot by police in January 2017, and uncovering institutional racism, everyday violence and the heroin trade in West Yorkshire.

Mobeen is a regular presenter on BBC Asian Network, including hosting the long running series Group Chat, focusing on issues affecting young British Asians.

He talks to Fiona Campbell (Controller, BBC Three) about how he got his first break, his career to date and future plans, and offer tips and advice for aspiring journalists and filmmakers.
