    • Synopsis
    • An orchestra could consist of a guitar, a piano, keyboards and a voice. Right? Wrong! … An orchestra could be solo voices as well! StringLESS! Five women, an acapella vocal group from Thessaloniki, trying to survive adversity and the Greek crisis, creating beautiful and alternative music with female identity.
StringLess are not just a vocal female band with nice voices. Stringless have their own way to operate: they are organized in a democratic way, “if not everyone agrees, nothing is done”. In Thessaloniki during the financial crisis, they are trying to coexist while dealing with reality. Albena from Bulgaria, gets bored easily. Alexia focuses more on her personal career. Vassiliki cannot collaborate with Eliona from Albania, who cannot compromise with the relaxed way of the group. Alexia and Vassiliki will leave the group, though the rest will try to keep it united.
The documentary combines the story of these women’s lives with the story of their songs. Each one has her own aims and needs; but they stay together dealing with the crucial issues of motherhood, creativity, job. Can they make it?
Angelos Kovotsos, in a try to find the reason of the existence of the group and its development as years pass, wins the Audience Award for a Greek Film in Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
