Based on the biography by Mat Oxley, this is the astonishing story of East Germany’s dashing motorcycle star Ernst Degner, who defected to the West by stealing the GDR’s speed secrets for Suzuki.
  
  After years of failure and humiliation, Degner’s East German team are on the brink of World Championship victory. But with the Iron Curtain closing in, war orphan Degner must make a choice: go for glory and take home the championship for his country? Or sacrifice his dream and betray his friends in a terrifying gamble for freedom – for the future of his wife and children, the only family he has left?
