    • Synopsis
    • The story is set in Shikoku Chuo City in Ehime Prefecture, the "City of Paper" that boasts the top output of paper in Japan. However, due to the long recession, the city has lost its former prosperity.
Ikezawa, a substitute teacher, is appointed temporary advisor of the Shikoku Chuo High School calligraphy club that Satoko and her friends belong. Ikezawa appears to have no intention of teaching calligraphy to the club members, and also goes so far as to call Satoko's calligraphy work boring, even though her works are usually showered with awards. The teacher and students seem to go together like oil and water.
One day, Ikezawa is found standing on a large sheet of paper on the school grounds. He uses a large brush to gracefully write script on the paper to the rhythm of music in the background. When Satoko and the club members witness his compelling performance, they come up with the idea to hold a contest for calligraphy performances for the benefit of the local stores in an effort to help revitalize their beloved community.
The big day arrives, and Satoko and the others perform together. Their sincere passion for calligraphy and their earnest love for their hometown envelop the stage, and a small miracle occurs.
