    • Synopsis
    • Lucy is hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital in Mozambique. She dreams about her little son, Hanic, and her husband, Pak, who is a soldier of the war. In the meantime, a quirky musical intrument plays: her own bed. Lucy’s musical virtuosity, attracts the attention of the hospital nurses. One day, her song is played in a radio program and Rosa, an envangelical priest of “Rádio Moçambique”, goes to the hospital to listen to Lucy’s song. Lucy takes the priest’s visit as an opportunity to run away from the hospital.

Alone in the big city, with nothing else besides the pieces of her own bed, and struggling to find Hanic, Lucy looks for the radio’s head office. Rosa confesses to Lucy that everyone thinks she’s the boss when in reality she’s nothing else but her chauffeur’s (Muxanga) prisoner. Lucy transforms her bed into a plane and with the help of Muxanga finds Hanic. Muxanga tries to terrorize Lucy, but little Hanic stands up to his mother and defeats Muxanga.

Lucy and Hanic travel all over Mozambique in search of Pak. First of all, they find the movie theater in which Pak used to work as a projectionist. And after that, they find a ticket and a box with money. Lucy and Hanic bought a motorbike and crossed the river by boat heading the war. They arrive to a sinister place called “Infernal Club” and ask for Pak’s informations in exchange for the motorbike. Muxanga, cleverly hidden in between the clients, kills Hanic. But the moment he kills him, Pak shows up and kills Muxanga and a bird appears in place of Hanic’s heart.

Hanic’s body wrapped in a bed sheet goes with the river’s course. Lucy and Pak, with the bird on their hands, run in search of their son’s body. When they finally find them in the morgue of another hospital, the bird escapes its cage. Lucy and Pak cross Mazambique with Hanic’s body on their arms and finish their long journey in a little chapel of Mozambique’s Island fortress. Lucy smiles. Has God just announced something to her?
