    • Synopsis
    • Modern-times have not been kind to the American, Midwestern town of Clairsville or its local tom-boy, Cassy O’Neal. She does her best, working as an oil-tank truck driver, but deep down she longs for excitement, challenge and a different way.

Her chance comes when she wins a local amateur dirt track race and earns the coveted Wild-Card slot in the coming Motor-Speedway season. There are only two problems: She has no money – and NO car.

It is rumored that a local farmer has a classic muscle-car stashed in one of his barns and when she approaches him, to her surprise he agrees to, not only give her the car, but finance her dreams... Under one condition: Cassy must look after his orphaned granddaughter, Sammi. The two fight like cats and dogs, but slowly grow fond of each other.

Cassy is distracted by the town hunk, Reno, as well as his greedy father and track owner, Ross, but is determined to win the final race of the season, The Firecracker 250. Cassy has 12 preliminary races to qualify, and sets out to do just that.

The climax of the story is the final race - with everything against Cassy: corrupt drivers, the distraction of her lover, even her own past, but as much as her finely-tuned muscle car is an extension of her new-found power and grit, Cassy’s softer feminine side and integrity is what final forms her into the champion she always knew she was.

In the end she has an opportunity to rocket across the finish-line and win it all, but instead, stops to save an injured driver who crashes on the final stretch. This unites EVERYONE at the Speedway, even the other drivers. They band together and push her injured car across the finish-line with Cassy on the hood and she is able to adopt Sammi.
