    • Synopsis
    • My Love Awaits Me by the Sea is an experimental poetic
documentary taking the director, Mais Darwazah, on a first time
journey to her homeland in search of Hasan Hourani, a
Palestinian artist, her Arab “Little Prince” who’s work sought a
better world as it set the imagination free.
On a cold winter day in 2007, while Mais was going through
Hasan’s work, a young man who tragically drowned in the sea of
Jaffa in 2003, she stumbled upon something so special that urged
her to make this journey and share his uniqueness with the world.
Through his children’s book of illustrations and poetry Hasan Is
Everywhere, the artist created a space for love, tranquility,
dreaming and safety; the staple and basic emotions, which the
people of this region were often deprived of. Hasan made her
believe in her dreams, to look for a lover still awaiting her by the
sea, so she decided to look for him, discover his world.
