- Synopsis
- MILLY is a musical film inspired by the life of Dominican singer Milly Quezada known worldwide as the Queen of Merengue, who in 1965 while still a precocious child, is forced to leave her beloved Dominican Republic fleeing a city devastated by civil war, once in New York, she will struggle to find her place in the unique streets of Washington Heights, where the wave of Latin migration was just beginning, her journey through the music of the time will place her among the few female figures of the New York Latin Boom of the seventies along with Celia Cruz and La Lupe, in this world dominated by men and prejudice she will have her three children and will face the difficult decision to launch herself as a soloist after the death of her beloved husband and accomplice.
