    • “Movies have something essentially magical about them,” Michael Cimino once said. “You’re creating a nostalgia for a past that never existed.” He died at the age of 77 on July 2, 2016, after twenty years spent dreaming of films that never came to be.
      “In Michael Cimino un mirage américain we see Jim, Kathy, Orin, Bobby, John Wayne, and a guy called Boom-Boom. Quentin pops in, as do Oliver, Stanley, and John. And among all that, there are scraps of Mingo Junction, Ohio — of America, thus of movies —and a little of Michael Cimino. It’s a mirage, but it’s real.” Jean-Baptiste Thoret.
