    • Synopsis
    • Mary in the Mirror is a short film about a thirty-something, newly unemployed woman struggling to come to terms with the banality of her existence. Following a less than satisfactory counselling session, Mary seeks out the solace of the various support groups on offer in the local vicinity, adopting a persona to suit each group's purpose. As Mary morphs with each group she encounters, she finds within herself a far more flamboyant identity than the functional, pallid version she has so far embodied. The film ends on the optimistic note of Mary's meticulous stoicism in the face of the gruff invalid mother whose dependence upon her has dictated Mary's ascetic existence - until now.
