Ever since their creation in 1940 until their dissolution in 1961 the Basque group Los Xey was one of the most famous singing groups in the world.
In this documentary we will recover their memory in the 21st century accompanied by their modern day counterparts the Golden Apple Quartet.

- Synopsis
- Viewed through today’s eyes, it’s difficult to gauge the musical career and life these Donostiarras enjoyed from their creation in 1940 until they disbanded in 1961. Los Xey was one of the most famous musical groups worldwide, not only did they triumph in Spain but also in America from Argentina to the US but they left a lasting impression for many generations.
  At a time when the radio offered live shows and television had yet to appear, there wasn’t a theatre, cabaret or radio station that didn’t demand their performances. A few young republicans, the losers of a war who they sang to at their concerts made them stars competing as equals with the greatest singing stars on the American continent, which they toured for 9 years, even inaugurating Mexican television besides taking part in numerous films and recordings.
  Some of their songs have been passed down to us, perhaps the most famous being ‘Buen Menu’.
  With this documentary, we’re trying to recover their memory in the 21st century with at the hand of relatives, musical experts and their modern day counterparts the Golden Apple Quartet whose current show is a tribute to them.
