    • Synopsis
    • Abdallah Al-Khatib, the director of the film, was born in Yarmouk, a small urban area on the outskirts of Damascus, Syria, which served as the largest Palestinian refugee camp in the world from 1957 to 2018.
      The regime of Bachar Al-Assad, who considered it as a refuge for rebels and a core of resistance, decided in 2013 to besiege it: the army encircled the camp, and radically banned any movement by anyone or anything into or out of it.
      Gradually deprived of food, medicine, electricity, water, Yarmouk was cut off from the rest of the world.
      Based on footage shot between 2012 and 2015, the film by Abdallah Al-Khatib tells from within the many ways civilians organized themselves to resist starvation, despair, and ultimately death.
