- Synopsis
- Amalia, a fifties housewife from a village in Galicia, asks Carlos, his son, to attend in representation of the family, a wedding to be held in Newark, a New Jersey city very close to New York . He gladly accepts, especially because his true intentions are quite different from the desires of his saintly mother, and as an authentic and unscrupulous gulf, he manages to convince Gonzalo, a good-natured, but lately depressed by professional set back, to spend with him a weekend in new York. Gonzalo accepts, more than anything, because Carlos is paying the trip. (Or his mother).
  Flying over the Atlantic, Carlos goes to the second part of the plan with the help of a ruthless emotional blackmail, and when the plane lands in New York he has already convinced Gonzalo to attend in his place to the wedding while he visits a beautiful coruñesa who now lives in Brooklyn. Impersonate Carlos is not mission impossible because the New Jersey family has not seen him or pictures of himself since he was 7 years old. Carlos leaves on his own and discovers that his friend moved out, but he does not mind too much as who now takes her place is a beautiful Colombian.
  Meanwhile in New Jersey, Gonzalo passes the test in a welcome party, but that night things start to get complicated. Silvia, the bride, returns home desperate because her boyfriend does not want to marry her. Meanwhile, Carlos sees as his plans start to go wrong, having to sleep on a roof. The next day, on top off it, Isabel asks Gonzalo (now Carlos) that given the imminent arrival of her from triumphant brother from Argentina, that he impersonates Antonio, her daughter's coward boyfriend. And promising weekend has only just begun...
