    • Synopsis
    • Following the innovative MAMI WATA (2023) – which won the Special Jury Award for Cinematography at Sundance, writer-director C.J. “Fiery” Obasi and DP, Lílis Soares continue their vision and experimentation on perspective and gaze. In La Pyramide, three stories dealing with the paranormal, supernatural and the divine come together. The first takes place in New Orleans, USA; the second in Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, Brazil; and the third one in Dakar, Senegal. These are three highly atmospheric, unique stories that transcend genre, and uphold a new African and Diaspora narrative and perspective in cinema.
The three stories are KEEPER, ORIXA, and SAVIOUR. Though three stories, they are not necessarily separate, neither do they follow the classical anthological structure, as they weave back and forth into each other, overlapping and intermixing into one singular story.
