- Thousands of dancers, their families and teachers from across the world descend on Glasgow, Scotland for a drama-filled seven days of competition. Wigs, make-ups, tans, diamantes and dresses costing thoushands of pounds combined with blood, sweat and tears. 364 days of incredibly hard work for just a few tense minutes on stage.
  The competitors form ten years old upwards all competing to win a coveted world Title. Millions know and love Riverdance and Lord of the Dance but this is the first time that the controlling body of international Irish competitive dance have permitted an outsider to go behind these normally close doors. What award winning filmmaker, Sue Bourne, discovered was a remarkable and exciting world filled with passion, determination and the love of this most intriguing form of dance.
  Wonderful, diverse characters of all ages converge from Ireland, the United States, Holland, England, Scotland and Russia to perform at the event. JIG discovers a hot bed of dedication, hard work and obsession. Ecstatic success and tear-jerking defeat. Astonishing dance talent pushed to limit in the quest for perfection.
