- Synopsis
- The embassy of Argentina in Santiago de Chile is one of the only safe havens for dozens of left-wing activists during the 1973 coup. For the refugees cooped up in the residence neither past nor future seem to exist. Pedro, 12 and Ana, 11 meet at the embassy and live this time warp. As they observe the adults and their struggles, meetings, chess games and frustrating discussions about everything from sex to politics, Ana and Pedro live a hiatus of surprising freedom and the thrills of a first love.
  Past and future seem to blend together, but present is very real: frightening, lively and happy at the same time.
