- Synopsis
- Retiring Detective Augustus Wolf must discover the identity of a half-charred body left in front of Marcus Rigoni’s boat. Marcus is the son of Wolf's oldest best friend and is a rising star District Attorney who has a strong agenda against the highly regarded psychopathic doctor David Sheffer.
  
  While Wolf investigates Jane Doe’s identity, Sheffer makes a two-pronged attack on Marcus: blackmailing Laura, Marcus’ wife, pressuring her to influence Marcus to give up on his hunt; and winding up Justin, the teenage son of a man sent to death row by Marcus.
  
  Both Wolf and Marcus are aware that Sheffer is responsible for the abduction and murder of two young girls. But Wolf plays by the rules and Marcus resents him for not taking a more “at any cost" approach to bring Sheffer to justice.
  
  When another little girl is found dead, Wolf has to make the hardest decision of his life.
