    • Synopsis
    • It is the summer of 1976, the hottest summer in living memory, and keen drama teacher VIVIENNE (Minnie Driver) fights sweltering heat and general teenage apathy to put on a school musical of her version of Shakespeare’s THE TEMPEST.
To get the kids engaged, she weaves the play around their favourite pop songs, using the hits of the day by artists as diverse as David Bowie, Lou Reed, The Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, Dusty Springfield and Electric Light Orchestra.
The music is sung and performed by a fresh and enormously talented group of young actors led by rising star Aneurin Barnard (Ironclad, Olivier Award winner for his role in Spring Awakening).
The result is a film that is in turns touching, life affirming, funny and nostalgic, and a love letter to the music of the period.
