    • Synopsis
    • Fariba, a devoted housewife in her early sixties, spends her days tending to her elderly parents in a modest home where time feels suspended. Her mother, gripped by the slow decay of Alzheimer’s, no longer remembers the daughter who never left her side. Her father, frail and dependent, relies on Fariba’s unwavering attention for his most basic needs.

Though she has her own home just a few blocks away—and a life she might have lived—Fariba has chosen this path of self-sacrifice, sharing shifts with her brother, who arrives each evening to take over. As the days blur into routine, Fariba’s internal conflict deepens. Is this care an act of love—or a slow erasure of her own self?

Heritage is a poignant and intimate exploration of invisible labor, generational responsibility, and the quiet despair that often lies beneath devotion. Through Fariba’s story, the film poses a universal question: How much of ourselves must we give up for those we love?
