    • Synopsis
    • Sixteen-year-old LIAM BLACK is emotionally broken - close to ending his life and grappling with the death of his mother and brother, while his alcoholic father has gone missing. He survives by dealing weed at the local skate park, which sees him arrested and locked up in a juvenile facility. Out of options and with nowhere to go, he’s given a second chance when he’s sent to live with his highly-strung cousin TIM and his partner JOSH.
The three men struggle to adjust to their new living arrangement, clashing as they confront their prejudices about each other.
When Josh drags Liam along to the hospital to visit his Nan, Liam meets JENNA - a seriously ill girl, whose cancer treatment has left her feeling lonely and isolated. Jenna’s smothered by her overprotective mother ABI, whose love for her only daughter is so deep and vast that she wraps her up in care and concern that’s suffocating. Jenna’s only escape is the true crime podcasts she listens to, but Liam’s recklessness and rule breaking renews her
      lust for life.
When Liam breaks Jenna out of hospital, they head off for a magical night at the local fairground. Jenna’s world goes from black and white to full colour as she experiences all the nervousness and exhilaration of a first date. A boy like Liam is Abi’s worse nightmare but despite her desperate attempts to drive them apart, Liam and Jenna experience an unstoppable headlong rush into first love.
Following her cancer treatment Josh's irrepressible, totally unfiltered Nan, LIZZIE moves in with the boys. Lizzie sniffs out Liam’s stash and wastes no time in smoking it. Liam arrives home from school to find Lizzie high as a kite, with a serious case of the munchies, boasting thatLiam’s gear is better than what her oncologist gives her. Liam is furious but eventually the two bond and Lizzie convinces Liam that his drug dealing friends are nothing more than opportunistic.

When Liam’s Dad shows up, Liam quickly realises that he is irrevocably damaged and is the same abusive, alcoholic he remembers. Liam must decide whether he wants to risk derailing his new life for the chance of rebuilding their broken relationship.

As Jenna's health deteriorates, she helps Liam to realise that he doesn’t need to continue down the lonely path he’s been travelling, while he shows her how to truly live, even though life is fast closing in.
