Esteros tells the love story between Matías and Jerónimo in a small town in the late 90s, where their teenage sexuality is cut short by family and social prejudices. More than ten years later, already grownups, they meet again and Matías assumes his feelings, long time denied.

    • Synopsis
    • Matías and Jerónimo know each other since childhood. Their friendship transforms the summer before starting high school, when they both experience their sexual awakening. But Matías father breaks up their relationships by taking a job in another town. His family contempt for Jeronimo´s homosexuality makes Matías deny his friend, and himself.
More than ten years after, Matías returns to his old town and runs into Jerónimo. He then realizes there is a way of living less conventional than his: while he graduated as a biologist and works in a big company in Brasil, Jerónimo followed his vocation, lives in the place he loves and naturally accepts his homosexuality. Seeing his friend back re-wakes his pre adolescent desire and gives Matías the chance to choose his real feeling over his family mandates.
Esteros tells, in parallel, this two moments of the love story between Matías and Jerónimo.
