- Synopsis
- While we focus on fighter pilot Douglas Bader – an extraordinary rule breaker who leads from the front – we interweave the lesser-known stories of the elite pilots on both the Allied and the Axis sides. Including Bader’s Canadian wingman William McKnight: young and aggressive, but beneath the swagger is a man suffering extreme anxiety due to combat trauma. And there’s their nemesis - Adolf Galland - flying in the Luftwaffe.
  
  A man infamous for inventing brutal carpet-bombing techniques and known to fly in swimming trunks while smoking a cigar! DOGFIGHT unfolds while the world burns, and pilots take to the skies to face their own death and bringing death to others. Nobody expects to live long enough to be accountable for their actions. Expectation is to be burned, suffocated or dropped from the sky wrapped in a blazing metal coffin. The pilots in DOGFIGHT are flying aerial battles in ever faster killing machines without practice runs. These young pilots learn on the job. These real-life superheroes do battle over the Dunkirk evacuation, Battle of Britain and eventually further into Europe.
