    • Synopsis
    • Bubu is a huge, simple-minded, sturdy fellow who works at the fish market. He is slavishly in love with his colleague, the fragile but strong-minded Angela, a woman of ever-changing artistic ambitions. (Most recently, realising she had no talent for painting, Angela has swapped her brush for a harp.)

Life is monotonous at the fish market. Away from the routine and the endless mounds of slimy and smelly fish, Angela and Bubu have created a strictly vegetarian hide-out, where Angela composes, and Bubu attends to her every wish. They live in harmony until one day a handsome stranger, Tulip appears at the fish market.

The story of a tragic love triangle in a bizarre, alienating, but also surreally charming world with a ballad-like terseness. The topic of the film is not just dependency, but also rebellion. Even as Tulip tears down the life Bubu has built up so carefully, he creates the conditions for Bubu to carry out the first – and last – autonomous act of his life.
