- Synopsis
- Super Daddy Blogger BENN (42) stages his life as a stay-at-home dad on the internet, while secretly wishing to escape the unfulfilling and unpaid care work. He is about to tell his wife, working mom (ob/gyn) JOHANNA (40), but instead, they make baby "number 3“. Benn secretly takes on a “real“ job anyway, and gets in deep conflict with his super daddy persona and eventually his wife.
  
  City shaman HEATH (30) and his sceptic husband JIYAN (32) are forced to move out of their flat, just as they receive the date for the last examination of their long-planned adoption. In a hurry they buy a romantic little house, which turns out to be a dump. The asbestos hell needs to be turned into a child-friendly family home, and the clock is ticking. An impossible task that puts the longed-for paternity at stake.
  
  Small-scale thug LENNY (24) and hairdresser ANA MARÌA (42) enjoy their strictly physical relationship until “a little miracle“ happens. Ana María, who thought she was infertile, has to make a difficult decision. Lenny — an unwanted child himself — struggles with her choice to give birth to the child against his will. He completely snaps when he learns that two gay men (Heath and Jiyan) are about to adopt and raise his offspring.
  
  As if the discomfort of the pregnancy and constant money worries weren't enough already, Ana María is just about to find out that her already existing son MANUEL (16) just got his on-and-off girlfriend JANINA (16) pregnant. It’s time for him to grow up, fast.
  
  All protagonists are connected through the vibrant cosmos of the diverse city district of Cologne-Mülheim. Over the course of the series, their paths will cross more and more often, before they all end up together in the labor room.
  
  DADDY ISSUES is a 8x30 comedy drama about the joy and pain of becoming fathers and modern masculinity — told from the perspectives of the men of today.
