    • Synopsis
    • This piece was created for exhibition at 'poARTry', at Newhampton Art Centre, Wolverhampton, UK. The exhibition randomly pairs poets and artists and gives them a limited amount of time to create two collaborative pieces, one that is a piece of art inspired by an existing poem, and the other a poem inspired by an existing piece of art. 'Clearance' is a new audio visual piece inspired by an existing poem.
The sound and visuals are a response to the poem by Liz Mills, written about the controversial forced evictions of Highland people in Scotland in the 18th and 19th Centuries.

Sounds include field recordings, analogue synthesizers and a shruti box. A set was created using OO gauge miniatures and filmed on a Canon mirrorless camera and vintage lenses. Wider shots were captured with a manual focus Auto Chinon 55mm F1.4 while close up shots were captured using an adapted enlargement lens, a Schneider Kreuznach Componon 50mm F4.
