    • Synopsis
    • From printing to cinema, technological innovations have always transformed storytelling. Today, virtual reality is the latest revolution, taking immersion in film to unprecedented levels, much like Cinemascope, Steadicam or IMAX did before.
As Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of Cannes, said:
‘Virtual reality filmmaking is already an art.’ Artists and filmmakers have embraced this medium, developing new techniques as the technology evolves.
In just a decade, hundreds of VR works have emerged,
showcasing a wide variety of genres and styles. This exhibition, first shown during the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, highlights the exciting dialogue between cinema, virtual reality, and the artist’s vision—a whole new way to imagine cinema.
