- Synopsis
- In 2030’s Cariano, a society ruled by science and logic, a mass suicide breaks out among adolescents who can no longer access their imagination. Flocci, an eccentric genetic scientist, dreams of making her home Cariano a better place with her husband Pauci, a genius who works in biotechnology research for the government. As they anticipate the arrival of their first child, their joy is interrupted when Flocci learns that Pauci has been at the head of the mission involving the suicide crisis. Pauci’s secrecy makes Flocci question whether she can trust her husband. Concerned about the future of her unborn child and her country, Flocci embarks on a search for answers to the current crisis. Her pursuit leads her to Nevauno, an utopian society known for its high quality of life. Pauci follows, eager to restore trust and to work with Flocci, believing they will find a solution. Instead, they both learn a dangerous truth revealing the facade of utopian conditions in Nevauno and uncovering a link between Nevauno and the crisis in Cariano. Before they can act upon this discovery, Flocci goes into early labour. In search of safety with their newborn, Flocci and Pauci have to flee Nevauno, armed with truth and love that could lead to liberation from the science-driven crisis impacting their world.
