    • Synopsis
    • Sara, a woman in her thirties, appears to be living the dream —a loving husband, Ali, a beautiful
daughter, Leila, and the picture-perfect family life. Behind the façade of happiness lies a grim
reality. Sara is trapped in an abusive marriage, and her desperate struggle for freedom is
hindered by the unfair marriage laws of her country, which make it nearly impossible for her
      to secure custody of Leila.
“Behind closed doors” is a gripping and emotional drama that explores the harrowing journey
of a woman determined to escape domestic abuse. It shines a light on the strength of the
human spirit, the enduring love between a mother and her child, and the resilience required
to break free from a cycle of violence in the pursuit of freedom and justice.
Drawing inspiration from the emotional depth of ‘Marriage Story,’ the cultural resonance of ‘A
Separation,’ and the raw intimacy of ‘Blue Valentine,’ ‘Behind Closed Doors’ offers a gripping
portrayal of a woman’s battle for freedom and justice ; aiming to challenge social norms and
foster meaningful dialogue on women’s rights and justice.
