    • Synopsis
    • Samer (15) prefers hiding in an old water tank and painting his face than playing soccer. His loving yet frustrated mother Iman empathises, but his TV celebrity father Jamal pressures him to be like other boys. When he meets Mode, the new student from Paris at school and persuades his best friend Najat to invite him to her costume party, the trio discover a shared passion and decide to audition for a dance show. But Samer fails to get permission so convinces his brother Talal to use soccer as a front for the rehearsals.
When the trio struggle to choreograph, Mode’s French mother Beatrice steps in to help, much to the curious protests of her son. As mounting complications force Samer to resort to more lies to keep up the charade, Talal battles rival Murad for captaincy of the soccer club, young Bana uncovers Talal’s porn magazines and beats up boys at her school, and Iman’s suspicions of Jamal’s infidelity lead her to befriend Omar, the hunky perfume salesman. On the day of the audition, after securing a place in the show, Murad and a fellow ambush Samer and take compromising pictures to blackmail him. Also, Iman meets Beatrice and learns about the quest so bans him from continuing. Unwilling to let go of his dream and scared of Murad, Samer struggles to navigate through his own lies. When Samer’s jealous ardent admirer Malak circulates a scandalous article exposing Beatrice’s past to the school, Najat and Malak uncover his lies and abandon him. Samer withdraws to his tank but Jamal discovers him there and the incident pushes family tensions to an all-time high. That night, Samer sneaks out at midnight to meet Murad and learns that Jamal rekindled an intimate affair with his male college friend Saad.
Samer skips school the next day and questions Iman about her marriage. When he sees his tank being relocated he runs out to retrieve something from it that could implicate Jamal. Iman calls on Omar who chases after him and their encounter inspires a solution in Samer’s mind. After making amends with Mode the next day the two unite to lure Murad into a school bus. But a security guard discovers and reports them to the school’s Dean. Samer finally confronts Jamal about his feelings but keeps his discovery hidden. When Iman demands a divorce he lies one last time to save his family. Samer gains his freedom and the trio perform on the roof to family and friends.
