- Synopsis
- Argentina 1994, a small town in Neuquén. Aldo, a rural laborer, turns 18. The owner of the field where he works gives him a bicycle. Riding a bike transforms your life. He travels many kilometers to go to work and to go to the city, he experiences freedom and finds in it the pleasure of being alive. He always recounts out loud every path he takes through the middle of the field.
  One day, when going to the town of Zapala to buy a songbook for his little sister who loves music, he finds out about a bicycle race that will have a large financial prize. He gets excited, with the prize he could buy his sister a guitar. His mother and sister are also excited and support him to sign up. Aldo pedals day and night to arrive at the race in optimal conditions. His mother, a seamstress, prepares his clothes for the competition, his sister prays every day that he does well and wins. Nicomedes, his best friend, accompanies him to join the town. When they come across a mutual friend; Carrasco who timidly greets them.
  Unexpectedly, the summons to appear for mandatory military service arrives in the field, the date coincides with the day of the race. Aldo's illusions are threatened. Nicomedes offers him to go to military service in his place for at least the first day. The friends decide to take a risk. Aldo prepares his bicycle and goes to run. Nicomedes sets off towards the battalion to enter the colimba. Both are moving in different directions. Aldo, with his simple cyclist's clothing, runs the race, breaking all records, while Nicomedes is stopped at the battalion door by some officers. Hours later Nicomedes to Aldo at the general store. At the moment when Aldo arrives in a hurry, full of dirt and perspiration, after having won the race, it is heard on the radio that Private Carrasco has been found murdered.
