    • Synopsis
    • Set in the build up to the 1981 riots in Toxteth Liverpool, 'Three Days In July' follows Lucius Johnson and his teenage family amidst rising racial tensions and economic hardship. The city teeters on the brink of chaos and Lucius's son, Caleb is embroiled in the unrest when trying to protect his sister, Ari, and prove himself to his father. Caleb is critically injured in the riots which saw tear gas deployed for the first time on the UK mainland and untrained police officers injured over 70 residents. Lucius is forced to confront his own failures and the systemic injustices that have plagued his community. Lucius navigates the treacherous landscape of a city on fire, with the help of his friend Frank, seeking justice for his son and a better future for his family. As the dust settles, Lucius emerges a reluctant leader advocating reconciliation in a city divided by race and class. 'Three Days In July' is a powerful exploration of identity and resilience in the face of adversity.
