A labyrinth of love and crime in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
The mature human drama "Unlucky Women's Blues" eloquently depicts the narrowly-balanced relationship between four people, with a backdrop of eroticism and liquor.

    • Released from prison and on her way back her parents' home, Toko stops by at the Golden Street in Shinjuku, learning that her former lover, Gunji, lives there as the owner of a bar named Tsumi-Horoboshi (the Atonement) and the pimp of his girlfriend, Kasumi. After meeting him, Toko leaves the street but soon goes back to get drunk off the invitation of Yamashina, a self-styled ladykiller. Yet Gunji confronts her that she can't just atone for her misdeeds in prison. Although she has no intention to go back to Gunji, she is emotionally stuck to him. Kazumi, oblivious to whether Toko's reappearance on the scene is upsetting to her or not, lets her regular client come on to her.
