- Synopsis
- Nomad's Home (Beit Sha'ar) is a portrait of two Arab women born of different social and cultural circumstances within Egypt: IMAN KAMEL, an Egyptian filmmaker who has since relocated to Berlin and SELEMA GABALI, a Bedouin social entrepreneur confined to remote regions of the militarized central Sinai. Through this visually powerful and poetic film, we witness the unfolding of a spiritual dialogue between these two women: the filmmaker Iman who leads a city life in Europe and feels a stranger in her own land and the Bedouin weaver Selema who struggles against a patriarchal tribal existence in the mountains of central Sinai. While their circumstances could not be more different, we come to discover that they share a lot more in common than appears on the surface: each is bound by the passion of being a nomad in today’s modern life.
  Beit Sha’ar is the directorial feature debut from Egyptian filmmaker Iman Kamel and features an unprecedented view into the lives of the Bedouin women of the Al Gabalia tribe in Egypt's central Sinai Peninsula.
