Martin Luther was a reluctant rebel who stood against the power and might of Rome, a most dangerous stance to take and, in doing so, unintentionally changed the world.

When Martin Luther nailed his 95 'points for discussion' to Wittenberg's Castle church, his quiet life exploded into an international confrontation, an argument with the Pope, and ultimately, the Protestant Reformation. A simple monk pitted against the might, power, and money of Rome. But while the religious, social and political consequences have been much discussed, we reveal a fundamentally human story of honesty, faith, and fortitude.

Luther was by no means a saint, but the great reformer lived a life full of passionate conviction. From a lifechanging lightning strike as a young student, to his death bed, he put his faith deeply in his God. He was earnest in his convictions, even at the expense of his life! Today, the Lutheran Church bears his name and is spread all over the globe. A humble monk shaped the western world as we know it!
